Buying the Most Expensive Home on the Street
Whenever we help someone buy or sell a home, we run a comparative market analysis on the property to make sure that it's priced correctly within the neighborhood. This often results in a conversation about which home is the most expensive in the area and why.
You might think it would be nice to own the most expensive home on the street, but there are actually quite a few disadvantages to that. These houses always go down in value, and this is because the homes around them are smaller and they bring down the sale price of the most expensive home.
This is just a reminder of how important it is to work with a real estate agent who has the tools and the experience to examine a neighborhood and determine which property would be the best for you to purchase as a lifelong investment.
